Coach Katherine Bowers begins her 3rd season (2020 season was canceled due to COVID-19) at the helm of the WHHS Girls Lacrosse varsity team after coaching the WHHS Junior High Girls lacrosse team for the 2019 season. Coach Bowers has been the Director and coach of the Eagles Youth Girls Lacrosse program since its inception in 2017. Prior to her involvement with Walnut Hills, Bowers was the Head Coach for both the women's soccer and lacrosse teams at NCAA Division III Lycoming College leading the lacrosse Warriors to their first 11-win season in team history. Bowers has also held assistant coaching positions for The Ohio State University women's lacrosse team as well as for Capital University and Oberlin College. As a player, Bowers played 4 years of soccer and lacrosse at NCAA Division III Oberlin College. On the lacrosse field, Bowers led Oberlin to 3 conference titles in her 4 years and was named all North Coast Athletic Conference (“NCAC”) in each year. She earned the conference's Rookie of the Year award in her first year and the conference's Defensive Player of the Year in her senior season. A two-time All-Region selection, Bowers was tabbed a first-team NCAA All-American after her senior campaign and was named as a member of the NCAC All-Decade Team in both soccer and lacrosse. Katherine was inducted into the Oberlin College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009. At the conclusion of her senior year, Bowers was invited to the US Women's National Lacrosse Team camp. Currently, she plays for the post-collegiate club Cincinnati Queens.
